Have you wondered why God is not pleased with certain things we do? I’ve realized that most of the things we do as humans are born out of self. The human nature is depraved. All it seeks after is attention, fame…Etc. It’s after gratifying self and nothing else. That’s why you’ll see people putting up posts and all they’re after is the number of likes they’ll get. I was someone who loved attention. It grieves my heart when people point out my weaknesses to me. I have never liked that, and as a result, I can go to any length to please people. Quit Second-Guessing Yourself (Part 2)
Getting the affirmation of people we love and respect is a great confidence booster. However, when we become addicted to their opinions and affirmations such that we second guess ourselves and subsequently become incapacitated when we don't get it, there is a huge problem! Our confidence and security should be rooted in God not in the opinions and affirmations of others or even ourselves. Our focus should be to please God.
