Getting the affirmation of people we love and respect is a great confidence booster. However, when we become addicted to their opinions and affirmations such that we second guess ourselves and subsequently become incapacitated when we don't get it, there is a huge problem! Our confidence and security should be rooted in God not in the opinions and affirmations of others or even ourselves. Our focus should be to please God.

How We Have Got God Wrong
God is love. We know this but over time we have gotten a perception of love and somehow kept God in this box. Let me break this down. I always believed God was super loving, caring, and forgiving and He is, believe me, HE IS but His love is also expressed in discipline. This seemed contrary to the nature of God I was taught.
